Project Description

USD 313 passed a major bond issue in 2015 for the development of a multitude of facilities that will serve the school district as well as the City of Buhler. A part of that bond issue included the construction of tennis facilities (8-plex) at the grade school and major improvements to Wheatland Park. The improvements to Wheatland Park generally included a new baseball/softball complex and wellness center along with other related amenities and site infrastructure. Schwab Eaton assisted the project architect, Howard and Helmer with these facilities. The project was administered as a CMAR project employing Coonrod and Associates as the general contractor.

The sports facilities all conform to KSHAA guidelines as well as meet local recreation program needs. Two regulation baseball fields and two regulation fast-pitch softball fields were constructed. One baseball field was constructed with synthetic turf surfacing. Mid-America Sport played a major role in the field construction.
