METRIC TRACK CONVERSION
We Wrote the Book

One of the firm's founding fathers, the late Merle Schwab, authored the book "Converting, Building and Marking a High School Track for Metric Events" which was endorsed by the National Federation of State High School Associations. The book was considered the "bible" for track conversion and has been used by high school and universities throughout the United States. Schwab-Eaton continues to be a leader in track planning and design.

TRACK EVENT SETTINGS BOOK

Schwab-Eaton has developed a computer aided technique that allows us to create a customized event setting book for your track using National Federation, NCAA, and IAAF standards at minimal cost.

This book contains the angles and distances necessary to accurately lay out and stripe your running track. Most tracks have their own personality and differ in their basic geometries such as straight distance, number of lanes, etc.

Each track coach has his/her unique opinion as to the location of the finish line(s), the events included, and how the events should be run. At Schwab-Eaton, we take all of these factors into consideration when tailoring each book to each track.

The result is a permanent written record for a specific track facility. The book provides accurate calculated distances for each lane which are color coded for each setting. The settings in the curve are given in degrees, minutes, and seconds, the only accurate method for establishing points along a curve. Your book will contain information on color coding, event procedures, and waterfall and break line layouts.

Our individually designed track event settings book will give you the certainty and peace of mind that your project will be completed correctly the first time.
