Back in 1957, when fellow Kansan Dwight Eisenhower was president, Frank Eaton was a Topeka civil engineer working on the Kansas Turnpike project and Merle Schwab was in Wichita engineering a complex flood control project with numerous bridges. Today the Kansas Turnpike is a part of the Eisenhower Interstate System, one of the greatest construction projects of the 20th century. The work done by Frank Eaton and Merle Schwab on that highway and those bridges has made a lasting economic impact on the state of Kansas as well as the rest of the country. The early years of Schwab-Eaton were focused on engineering services for roads and bridges. Today the firm has grown into a multi-disciplinary company offering a broad range of services. Throughout the years, we have acquired a reputation of being an experienced and reliable firm providing our clientele with timely, professional service. Schwab-Eaton handles such diverse assignments as transportation systems, public works, site planning & development, water & waste water systems, surveying, construction support services, parks & recreation planning, bridge inspections & analysis, community planning, track & sports facilities, construction support services and airports. Yet, above all the projects and expertise is this simple fact: the values, beliefs and work ethic that Dwight Eisenhower learned as a boy in Kansas are the same ones that stand behind the people of Schwab-Eaton today.
