The Browning Project is a 40-acre mixed residential development in northern Manhattan, Kansas. Schwab Eaton prepared a master plan and design drawings for each phase of the project that included a large retirement and elder-care complex, a tax credit housing area for low-income individuals, apartments targeted to KSU students, and townhomes for retirees and empty nesters. A portion of the land was designated as wetlands. A large retaining wall was constructed along its perimeter to protect the environmentally sensitive area. Rain gardens were also incorporated into the plan to help recharge the ground water.
